Tourist Visa Guide

The purpose of visiting Canada for tourism is to experience its unparalleled natural beauty, vibrant cities, and rich cultural heritage. Tourists are drawn to iconic attractions like Niagara Falls, the majestic Rocky Mountains, Banff and Jasper National Parks, and the Northern Lights in Yukon.
Canada's cities, including Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, offer a blend of modern amenities,
historic landmarks, and diverse cuisines. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities like skiing,
hiking, and wildlife spotting, while cultural events like music festivals and indigenous art
exhibitions provide a deeper connection to Canada’s history and people. Canada offers
unforgettable experiences for every type of traveller.

To obtain a Canada tourist visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), follow
these essential steps:

1. Check Visa Requirements: Determine if you need a tourist visa based on your
nationality. Citizens of certain countries may be eligible for visa exemption.

2. Gather Required Documents: Prepare the necessary documents, including:

  • A valid passport with at least four months of validity

  • Proof of financial support (bank statements, pay slips, etc.)

  • Proof of ties to your home country (employment letter, property ownership, etc.)

  • A completed visa application form (IMM 5257)

  • Passport-sized photo

  • Travel itinerary, hotel bookings, and return flight details

  • Visa application fee payment receipt

3. Complete the Application: Fill out the visa application form (IMM 5257) online via the
official Canada Immigration website or on paper, depending on your application method.

4. Create an Online Account (if applying online): If applying online, create an account on
the official Canada Immigration website, where you can submit your application and
track its status.

5. Submit the Application: Submit your completed application form and documents online
or at a Visa Application Center (VAC) in your home country.

6. Pay the Visa Fee: Pay the required visa application fee. This can be done online or at the
VAC, depending on your application method.

7. Submit Biometrics (if required): Depending on your nationality, you may be required
to submit biometric information (fingerprints and a photograph) at a VAC.

8. Attend an Interview (if required): In some cases, applicants may be asked to attend an
interview or provide additional documentation for verification.

9. Wait for Processing: Wait for the processing of your visa application. Processing times
can vary, so it’s important to apply well in advance.

10. Receive Your Visa: Once your application is approved, you will receive your Canadian
tourist visa, either electronically or as a sticker in your passport.

11. Prepare for Travel: After receiving your visa, finalize your travel arrangements,
including accommodation, transportation, and any other necessary preparations for your
